Dear All A few things to report recently. Firstly, around 5.15pm last night (19th), a male was disturbed breaking into a shed in Woodlands Rd, Baughurst. He was described as white, about 20 years old, wearing a baseball cap, a grey tracksuit-type top with a wide blue stripe across the chest. A second incident in Woodlands Rd … overnight 18-19th, wheels were stolen from a car parked outside a house. The car was jacked up on bricks in order to facilitate this crime. Overnight 6-7th May, tools were stolen from a house under renovation on Monk Sherborne Road, Charter Alley. A Mercedes car was stolen from Kiln Road, Sherborne St John, overnight 14th-15th. For those of you who may go to Morgaston Road to walk in The Vyne Woods (Sherborne St John), please bear in mind we have had a number of break-ins to unoccupied vehicles. Don’t leave ANY valuables in your car. We are in the process of having some signs printed up for drivers to put on the dash advising would-be thieves that there is nothing of value within. Let me know if you would like one. Lastly, Bruce Barnes, the district co-ordinator for Baughurst NHW, is standing down in June, having done a grand job for many years. Nowadays, with e-mails, the role is much simpler and does not require too much effort, apart from a few admin skills. If you are interested, I have a short ‘job description’ as written by Bruce himself. I can send you this for perusal.
