Councillors & ClerkCouncillors are elected every four years in local elections. On being elected, they must each make a formal Declaration of Acceptance of Office and sign a Register of Interest form, in line with the Code of Conduct as set out by The Standards Board for England.

Camilla Du Boulay and her family moved to Monk Sherborne in 2006. She spent the first 20 years of her life in the borough, growing up in the rural community of Burghclere, and the move back to the area has felt like coming home to them. She works part-time as a financial consultant, having spent the last 11 years in financial services. The rest of her time is spent looking after a busy toddler.

Lord Hayter has lived in Monk Sherborne with his family for over 10 years. He runs a small business distributing high security safe locks. He enjoys sport (though mostly as a spectator these days), gardening and playing classical guitar.

Kirsty Scott

Portfolio - Neighbourhood Watch & Rural Policing
Kirsty Scott moved to Monk Sherborne from Surrey in November 2006 and feels very lucky to live somewhere where there is a real sense of community. She volunteered for the parish council in order to represent those in the village and to get involved in village life. Along with her partner, she enjoys taking walks in the surrounding countryside with their dog and both are novice photographers. She has worked in civil service for over 6 years and is currently in a busy shift working role.

The role of the Clerk is to ensure that the business of the parish council runs smoothly within legal requirements, as laid down by Central Government, and to carry out the policy decisions of the council. A Clerk may also be called upon to act as the Responsible Financial Officer.
