The Priory School is a small academy primary school situated in the picturesque hamlet of Pamber End, North Hampshire, and enjoys panoramic rural views. There are five acres of playing fields to the rear and these are well used for a range of sporting activities including football, tag rugby and athletics. The children love to play on the fields when the weather permits and the Parent Teacher Association hold its annual Summer Celebration and camping event on them.
There are 178 children in seven classes; children entering in the year they become five and leaving at the age of eleven. The school provides a happy stimulating environment where children love to learn. It provides an excellent education for all and offers a wealth of opportunities that enable children to develop key skills that will last them a lifetime.
The school is justly proud of its reputation within the local community and everyone associated with The Priory was delighted with the "Good" judgement awarded by Ofsted inspectors in February 2020.
It is steeped in history and yet it looks to the future. In recent years, there has been a significant investment in new technology and this is used creatively to enhance teaching. Children are encouraged to learn in variety of ways and there is a very good balance between teaching and independent learning.
Confidence and eloquence are developed through a range of speaking and listening activities and leadership qualities are nurtured through our house captains, sports captains and prefect system. There is a strong emphasis on good manners and high standards of behaviour are expected. The head teacher or deputy head greet each child and parent by name at the school gate every morning.
The school aims that each child that leaves The Priory to have enjoyed their time there and to feel it has been of real benefit and will serve them well in the future.
